Founder and Managing Director of Mauri-Plaque Ltd, Vijeyen Sornum has been in the construction industry for over a decade. Vijeyen has cultivated a passion for the business by providing top-notch service, starting back in 1988 when he served as chairman of Sornum Bros and Co Ltd, moving on to Happy Vallee Ltd in 1995, and now Mauri-Plaque Ltd since 2017. Born in the early 60s, Vijeyen developed into a visionary. He is dedicated and industrious, and his expertise is unmatched. Serving as the director of the company, Mauri-Plaque continually achieves new heights.

Prega Sornum is the Marketing and Key Account Manager at Mauri-Plaque Ltd. His position has been key to the company’s current performance since it makes sure that every task done for our clients is effective while preserving client continuity. Son of Vijeyen, Prega has a Master’s degree In Business Administration from Gloucestershire University in the UK, Post Graduate Diploma in Aviation Management from India, Level 7 in Executive Management, Level 6 in Business Management and a diploma in Community services from Australia. He is registered with The Mauritius Institute of Directors as a fellow member. Married and a father of 2, Prega has made a significant contribution to the organization since arriving in 2017. He is also a passionate of aviation and has a Commercial pilot license from South Africa and Australia.

Veronique is the admistrative manager at Mauri-Plaque Ltd. She joined the organisation as an Administrative assistant in 2017. She was promoted to administrative and sales supervisor in 2018 and then stepped into her current role in 2019. Veronique has a Level 6 in Business Management and Certificate from Grant Thornton. She has been in charge of the accounting department of Austral Transit International Ltd for some years. Married to Prega, Veronique’s contribution to the company has been excellent. She plays a significant role in the management of her department.

Mrs Thimmee Pyaneeandee – Sornum (Fidou)

Fidou joined the family business in 2019 after a successful career at Cobra Ltd. She is the secretary and personal assistant. Married to Vijeyen, Fidou plays a vital role in the company’s day-to-day running. Her contribution to Mauri-Plaque Ltd is outstanding. She is committed to her job and prepared to go beyond and above with a smile.
